I aim to blog here not about everything I listen to, but specifically about the music I really love. Here you'll find blogs on any album that I think is awesome.
What I intend to get across, is:
- why I like it,
- any significance in the way I discovered it or the time of its release,
- how it sounds, and
- if I was in the studio at the time, what would I have suggested to make it even better
This last point is important to me. Everything I review here is blogged solely because I think it is wonderful. Peerless. A crucial part of my life. So my intent is not to slag anything off for the sake of it. I am not trying to be a music journo here. You'll feel no attempt to justify existence by being 'controversial', which in itself is often a euphemism for at best cantankerous, at worst needlessly offensive. How can the perfect be even better? Every true fan of an album could think deeply about it and ponder the odd change. As hard as it is at times, I shall do this for you too.
It's often hard to pinpoint a particular influence on a song, so by knowing what I rate as terrific, you may find for yourself where something in one of my tunes has come from and who knows, go on to find a new favourite album of your own.
